Soaked Almond Smoothie

Late for school or work and don’t have time to make breakfast? Don’t fret; this naturally sweetened soaked almond smoothie can start your day. Packed with powerful antioxidants, monounsaturated fats, and minerals, this energy-dense smoothie will boost your day!

To make this dynamic smoothie, you will need:

  • ¼ cup of soaked almonds- with skin

  • 2 Medjool dates- preferably pitted

  • ½ teaspoon of cacao powder

  • 1 cup of water

  • ¼ cup ice

*To make this smoothie all-organic, just simply use organic ingredients!

1. Remove the seeds from the dates if your dates have seeds in them. If they don’t, skip right on ahead to the next step!

2. Toss your almonds, dates, and cacao powder in the blender along with ¼ cup of water. Blend until you reach a pasty, yet slightly chunky consistency.

3. Add in the remaining water to the mixture and blend until it becomes a smoothie.

4. Pour into a glass and serve cold. Pop in some ice cubes if you’d like and serve.

And there you have it! This recipe serves 1 person and is also a great mid-morning snack. High in vitamins E and K as well as full of essential trace minerals manganese and magnesium, this pre/post workout drink will keep you recharged until your next meal.
